He has made everything beautiful in its time.

How it started….

In 2020 my husband and I found a home with some land in the perfect location for our family. We moved that fall with our 7 children not knowing what adventures lay ahead…but knowing it was right. The next year we spent time making the home function for our family of 9. Then I turned my attention to the property, on a mission to redeem it. Our property had been loved and manicured but had fallen into disarray for many years. My love of landscaping, beautifying, and learning kicked in. Fall of 2022 I decided to learn how to grow a cut flower garden and add that to the landscape that we were rehabilitating. By spring of 2023 I was hooked and felt that we could steward this land we had been blessed with by having a cut flower business to share beauty and connect with our community.

Cottage Flowers was born summer of 2023, selling my first Mixed Bouquets and hosting a Friends and Flowers evening. My past experience of owning my own business, teaching women and hosting events has helped me start this business. I missed having an excuse to help ladies gather and connect, something that is so vital to our humanity, like I did prior to our move. I found that the Friends and Flowers night serves that purpose so well. I love all things beautiful in my home, and making mixed bouquets is a way to help others bring beauty into their own home. Providing Buckets of Blooms is also an outlet to help others explore their own creativity as they DIY their own arrangements for their homes and special events. All of these avenues make Cottage Flowers more than a business. It’s a way of connecting with our community and sharing beauty. Cottage Flowers is a daily reminder that all things are made beautiful in their own time.

CF is a family owned and operated business. All 9 of us have played a hand in making it possible. One of the purposes of CF is to provide a way for our children to work, learn new skills, and learn how to run a business. Working alongside my husband and children to make this possible is one of my greatest joys. Whether it is soil blocking and seeding with my young daughters, having one of my talented children take better pictures than I can, seeing my boys taking on the heavy work of preparing the land, appreciating my daughters skills in accounting that I steer clear of, or getting suggestions from my creative children of how to make an arrangement even better, I treasure it all. Cottage Flowers is a beautiful gift to our family that we want to share with our community.
